The FRG-100 is YAESU's newest, high-performance communications receiver providing general coverage reception in CW, SSB, AM, and FM modes from 50 kHz to 30 MHz. Micro-processor control of major functions permit ease of operation and features that both new and seasoned shortwave listeners will appreciate, at an affordable price. Reception modes and most receiver functions are push-button selectable from the front panel. A crisp back lit LCD with adjustable brightness provide frequency read out (down to 10 Hz) and important operational status at a single glance.
Fifty fully tuneable memory channels store frequency, mode and filter selection, two additional memories provide band edge information used in scanning. Selectable tuning steps of 10 Hz, 100 Hz, 1 kHz are standard, while other increments are user programmable.
Multi-function Scanning (memory, band, selectable group, priority) with carrier or time-delay resume enables searching for new stations, or scanning within a known band.
A special Broadcast Band selection mode permits instant selection of 16 pre-programmed international AM broadcast bands (LW, MW through 11 Meters), convenient & instant QSY!
CW operator's will love the adjustable BFO, reverse BFO offset, and Selectable CW Sideband, which prevent having to re-tune signals when changing modes and reduces adjacent signal interference. Installation of the optional 250 or 500 Hz crystal filter permits even further enhanced CW reception. For SSB, an adjustable SSB Carrier Offset feature permits fine tailoring the receiver's audio response to your own taste. Selectable AGC rate, noise blanker and all mode squelch and RF attenuation controls are also provided.

Twin 12/24 hour programmable clocks with hourly time annunciator let you keep local time along with another time zone, if you desire. The programmable On/Off-Timer and Sleep Timer along with a remote control jack at the rear of the radio can switch your auxiliary recording equipment at pre-programmed times.
The Yaesu CAT System provides a direct link to the CPU in the FRG-100, allowing a personal computer with the Yaesu FIF CAT Interface Unit to add or customize functions such as automatic tuning and scanning as well as remote control of most receiver functions.
